Sister Antoinette Zaidan, a Maronite nun, was brutally raped and strangled while on her way
home to her convent by Islamic militants, probably connected to the radical Al-Takfir Wal-

Salwa Yazbek and her pregnant daughter-in-law, Sarah Yazbek, were beheaded and
dismembered, by the Islamist group Al-Takfir Wal Higra, in the village of Kfar Abou,
Lebanon, January 3rd, 2000.

Deacon Chafiq Rajha of the Maronite Church of St. George in Dekuwane, Lebanon were killed
in the bombing of his church on November 3rd, 1999. Several parishioners were injured
